Let us remember Him.

Each year as the Christmas season approaches I take time to sit and reflect on the birth of Christ, his youth, and the responsibility his earthly parents must have felt raising the Son of God. I think of his ministry, healing the sick, allowing the blind to see, the lame to walk, and the dead to live again.  He endured persecution, disbelief from friends, and even his disciples. He suffered pains in Gethsemane that we can't possibly understand, and ultimately died on the cross for you and me.
During chemotherapy I was in bed one day unable to get up. I was exhausted, sick, and in pain. Tears filled my eyes as my thoughts were of our Savior suffering in the garden. He knew exactly what I was going through and what it felt like. How grateful I am that He lived a perfect life and was willing to suffer for you and me. Who better to succor us in our time of need than Christ.
I am reminded of when He was sleeping on the boat with His disciples during the storm. He stood and asked his disciples, "Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?" He then arose, rebuked the wind and said to the sea Peace be still. In wonderment His disciples asked, "What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?  He who created this earth was again commanding the elements. It is true that ominous clouds can gather around us, we may feel lost or forgotten but just as the Saviors words brought peace to the apostles in the boat, they can bring peace to us today. No matter what it is we are going through He knows how we feel and if we just ask He will be there.
With much love to my friends and family,
Brian
